The Book of Obadiah was attributed to a prophet who lived in the Assyrian Period and is one of the Twelve Minor Prophets. The text consists of a single chapter, divided into 21 verses, making it the shortest book in the Hebrew Bible.

Many believe he prophesied about the same time as Hosea, Joel, and Amos while others suggest he was actually from an earlier period. But the message is timeless if we can see the revelation of the mystery of Babylon.

Obadiah supposedly foretold of a judgment that awaited the people of Edom because of their cruelty toward Judah. During the Siege of Jerusalem (597 BC) when Nebuchadnezzar II sacked Jerusalem and seized the King of Judah, installing a false ruler, the Edomites assisted the Babylonians spoil the city.

Taking from the people by force brings blood upon those who are abused through covetousness which is never the righteousness of God and will bring judgement upon those who act in like manner.

He also prophesied the future of Israel or Zion and the importance of restoration of those who truly participate in "Legatum Veritatis" as “saviours” (see Obadiah 1:17–21).

We need to understand that "the Day of the Lord" is the day in which the consequences of going against the "Right Reason" which is sin finally catches up with the workers of iniquity in what is called the Wrath of God but is simply the cause and effect built into creation.
