Eating the flesh and drinking blood
- John 6:51 I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world. The Jews therefore strove among themselves, saying, How can this man give us his flesh to eat? Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you.
What did Jesus mean when he said "Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you"?
Today, the phrase "Flesh and blood" is an expression used to refer to someone in your family, especially someone who is related by blood rather than through marriage. Or it may refer to someone who merely present as a living being.
The phrase "flesh and blood" is actually considered by some to be a “Hebrew idiom which refers to the whole person, hearts, minds, spirit, feelings, hopes, dreams, fears, concerns, everything.”[1]
The use of the Hebrew idioms of "flesh and blood" and the common metaphors of "flesh" and "blood" used by Jesus in relation to consuming His "flesh" and His "blood" was a challenge to the people who had strayed from the fundamentals of God's kingdom on earth.
But here is where the metaphor of eating His flesh is often unmoored from the meaning of His word that gives life like no other. When the rights and responsibilities which were endowed upon mankind by our Father in Heaven become mere rituals and rites in the minds of men aloth and avarice are born.
- "He becometh poor that dealeth [with] a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich." Proverbs 10:4
To seek the ways of Christ is to seek the righteousness of God. To consume his flesh and blood is to consume the mind and the consciousness of God through Christ and his teachings. Anyone who ate his "flesh and blood" would by that new nature be doers of His word and blesed in his deeds.[2]
- "I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world." John 6:51
The truth of this statement about being "living bread" was so difficult to understand that the Jews actually began to fight[3] about its meaning.[4]
Jesus did go on to expound upon this statement"
- "54 Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. 55 For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. 56 He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him. 57 As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me. 58 This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live for ever." John 6:54-58
His reference to "living bread" and "living Father" and even "live by me" as well as "eternal life" are all contradicting the ideology and custom of consuming and living by the free bread of the fathers of the earth.[5] The system of freewill offerings being set up by Christ would give life while the system where people became accustomed to living at the expence of others and depending on the livelihood of others would degenerate the individual and society into perfect savages finding once more a monarch and a king.
The free bread of Rome was provided by the Patronus or father of Rome and brought about the decline and fall of Rome through socialism as predicted by Polybius. Welfare through covetous practices makes men merchandise and will curse children as prophecies by Peter.
This concept of welfare through charity taught by John the Baptist, by Jesus, the apostles and the early Church was at the core of the Christian conflict. Jesus had already spoke of himself as bread[6] and told them not to murmur[7] among themselves. He also told them why they did not seem to be able to understand the cryptic meaning embraced in these symbols.
Jesus let it be known that they could not understand him and what he was saying unless the spirit of His Father in Heaven drew them to that understanding.[8]
The Corban of the pharisees did not draw you to the Father but it made the word of God to none effect. To consume the living flesh and the blood of His life we must repent and seek the righteousness of His Father and turn away from the wages of unrighteousness offered by the world through its systems of unrighteous mammon.
Like many Modern Christians, the citizens of Judea had been reduced to one of those nations of "perfect savage" Polybius warned about because they were biting one another through their system of Corban set up by the government of Herod and the pharisees.
John the Baptist as a Levite and son of a high priest had been returning people to the system of Freewill offerings by his Baptism managed by other faithful Levites as they did before the people rejected God and elected to have a ruler.
John was trying to return the people to the righteous principles of the kingdom of God. When Jesus was Baptized by John he hoped that Jesus would follow him in his work[9] but at the time John did not know Jesus would also become king.[10]
Jesus was both high priest and king with the power of Moses and Melchizedek and God himself. He could change everything taking the kingdom of Israel from the Pharisees and appoint it to His Apostles.
Washed in the Lyrics
The phrase "washed in the blood" is actually from a song and not scripture. The nearest scripture to that lyric is in Revelation 7:14[11] when it refers to robes that are washed in the blood of the lamb and made white. Of course to use actual blood for washing robes would not work to whiten them any more than water Baptism actually washes sins away.
There is a song that is learned by the saints that is referenced in Revelation 15:3 [12] Neither the "song of Moses... and the song of the Lamb" have actual lyrics. The verse does mention the works of the "Lord God Almighty" confirming that his ways are both "just and true". Not only are these men "servants of God", the "Lord God Almighty" is the only king of these saints who sing the song of the lamb.
Te Pharisees did not know that song and had no king but Caesar. Their Corban made the word of God to none effect. The Corbanus of the early Church bore fruits because it was not based on registration and fealty or force but upon charity and love. There was no promise of entitlements in their song but there was hope of salvation in the "just and true" way of Jesus the Christ who was their king.
Hebrews does talk about bodies being washed with "pure water".[13] With Revelation [14] also talking about pure water coming from God and the lamb.
These are of course all metaphors trying to impart spiritual ideas just like water baptism. John even said it:
- "And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost." John 1:33
Spirit is truth
There is no water or physical blood that can wash us clean without the Spirit of God.[15] They are symbols of the spirit that gives us life. When that Spirit dwells in us we will manifest the gifts of the Spirit of Christ and His prophets and not the spirit of the pharisees, workers of iniquity, synagogue of Satan[16], nor the beast.
There is no magic in the water nor in the blood but these are symbols that reference the spirit that will wrought a change in us which water and blood cannot.
Blood is essential to life. Blood circulates through our body and delivers essential substances like oxygen and nutrients to the body's cells. It also transports metabolic waste products away from those same cells.
There are none who have not been tempted to walk according to the spirit of the world as do the children of disobedience.[17] Christ offering was to purge your consciousness from the dead works of unrighteous Corban and covetous practices of the world.[18]
The sacrificing and obedient Spirit of Christ is in the Blood of Christ but it is a Spirit that must also be in those who believe. We are called to first repent by Jesus himself. That means we must think differently than what many were thinking when Christ came into the world. That includes repenting of our deeds.[19] Jesus Christ was the faithful witness of the character or DNA of God.[20] But to be saved by His blood we must have His Spirit flowing in us.
Brides and Harlots
Christ called out His Little Flock to appoint unto them a kingdom which he took[21] from the Pharisees with the words of their own mouth.[22] They were to be Holy or Separate from the world, certainly not of it, They were to be the "bride of Christ" preparing a wedding feast for all to come to and partake.[23]
The Harlot who may claim to be that bride will fornicate with other kings of the earth.[24]
By the false doctrines of the Harlot and her daughters will together lead the people into captivity.[25] The do this because they build their cities of blood and flesh through men like FDR and LBJ.
Who is the Bride?
Who are the saints who can say that God is their King through Christ?
That would be those who have the patience of the Saints and by faith know and keep the commandments of God.[26]
Communion and crumbs
The communion of the Saints should be more than crumbs of rituals and rites nor should be the wages of unrighteousness that come from covetous practices which make the word of God to none effect but they should be a "just and true" daily ministration of righteousness through the faith, hope and charity of, for, and by the people.
Communion and Fellowship of the people at the time of John the Baptist had become a system of Corban that was making the word of God to none effect. It was a system of Welfare that depended upon men who called themselves Benefactors but whom exercised authority one over the other. These were the Fathers of the earth who we were not to pray to nor be like.
We were to have a communion of the Eucharist of Christ based on Faith, Hope and Charity through the Perfect law of liberty.
This idea was stepping away from a system of entitlements and social insurance was more than a little frightening to the people as it would be to Modern Christians.
Why was it so frightening?
It was stepping out of the boat and started to give in charity, casting your bread upon the waters,[27] hoping that others would also give in your need. It was even laying down your life, with only hope that you would pick it up again. It was taking the few loaves and fishes you have and giving them away hoping that others would share when you need help.
To give up even giving up the emotional dependence on the Welfare offered by the Temples of the World was traumatic. To strive and sacrifice in order to provide a Daily ministration in Pure Religion, though common amongst the people at one time, was now not even imaginable.
When Christ let the people know that His way was a way of sacrifice of self, vanity and comfort, a way of love and patience and forgiveness, of humility and fervent charity "many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him."John 6:66
The people at the time of Christ made excuses, delayed, held back and now we have strayed from The Way of Christ and have need of Repentance.
Why should we expect any different today?
And even if others may stumble and falter and fall what does that have to do with our faith, our own walk with Christ?
- Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away? Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life. John 6:67-68
Every man must choose which way they will go and in which way they will walk.
Religion is not about what a minister says about Jesus in the pulpit nor is about a social club where everyone gathers in emotional support of one another. It is not about complex theologies, hermeneutics or eschatological theories that tickle itchy ears or justify sloth and sin.
Coming in the name of Christ is coming together to serve one another. Every man should be a minister of the Holy Spirit to all no matter what the sacrifice. This is the purpose of His Church to form a Network of Charity and Hope and conform to Christ in Spirit and in Truth. Through that Network we may begin to attend to the Weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith which include caring for the needs of our neighbors and the widows and orphans of our society through Pure Religion in matters of health, education, and welfare. We are NOT to provide for the needy of society through the Covetous Practices and the men who call themselves benefactors but who exercise authority one over the other like the socialists do.
The Way of Christ was like neither the way of the world of Rome nor the governments of the gentiles who depend on those fathers of the earth through force, fear and fealty who deliver the people back in bondage again like they were in Egypt. Christ's ministers and true Christians do not depend upon systems of social welfare that force the contributions of the people like the corban of the Pharisees which made the word of God to none effect. Many people have been deceived to go the way of Balaam and the Nicolaitan and out of The Way of Christ and have become workers of iniquity.
The Christian conflict with Rome in the first century Church appointed by Christ was because they would not apply to the fathers of the earth for their free bread but instead relied upon a voluntary network providing a daily ministration to the needy of society through Faith, Hope, and Charity by way of freewill offerings of the people, for the people, and by the people through the perfect law of liberty in Free Assemblies according to the ancient pattern of Tuns or Tens as He commanded.
The modern Christians are in need of repentance.
"Follow me!" —Jesus the Christ.
- One of the most important things to do is to become involved in a network of Charitable Practices. Everyone should want to join a Living Network of Love and Charity.
- If you think you have a calling to be a Minister of God or you might want to dedicate your life to Christ as an Ordained Minister of His Holy Church, contact us to start the process of discipleship and become the benefactors who exercise only love, NOT authority.[28]
.
Rightly dividing
- "And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart," Acts 2:46
This breaking of bread from house to house was a job of the Church, just as it had been a job of the Levites before. Everyone who had gotten the baptism of Christ and his disciples had been put out of Herod's welfare system of Corban run through the temple by the Pharisees.
The Sabbath was originally a day of rest but the Called out of Christ often met on Sunday to do the work of the Kingdom of God in service to the people. The freewill offerings of the people to those servant ministers was divided among the faithful in the practice of Pure Religion.
- "Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved." Acts 2:47
Apologists of the Church explained how they functioned to the Emperor of Rome
- “But Sunday is the day on which we all hold our common assembly, because it is the first day on which God, having wrought a change in the darkness and matter, made the world; and Jesus Christ our Saviour on the same day rose from the dead. For He was crucified on the day before that of Saturn (Saturday); and on the day after that of Saturn, which is the day of the Sun, having appeared to His apostles and disciples, He taught them these things, which we have submitted to you also for your consideration.” Justin's First Apology 65-67.
Despite the jealousy of people of the world, the Christian conflict with the Imperial cult of Rome, and persecution of the Christians by officials the faithful knew The way of Christ was key to salvation in this world and the next.
Church service was real service, not merely an emotional crutch. Food and drink was brought in while the needs of the people were applied or prayed for by the people and met by the people. Food and provision were distributed amongst those who were there and those who were at a greater distances they were sent by the Deacon of Tens.
Here is a another quote from Justin Martyr:
- "We call this food eucharist (thanksgiving), and no one else is permitted to partake of it, except one who believes our teaching to be true and who has been washed in the washing which is for the remission of sins and for regeneration [baptism] and is thereby living as Christ enjoined.” (First Apology, 66:1-20)
Understanding the purpose of rituals like the Feasts, Sabbaths, Eucharist and Baptism is important in comprehending the purposes of God and His ways. Baptism was not just the idea of being dunked or washed in water with the recitation of specific words. The outward symbol was evidence to a personal commitment to a particular way of life, of being submersed in the precepts of the Gospel of the Kingdom of God as opposed to the schemes of Herod. It was about changing your ways and actually living as Christ proscribed us to live.
The people had to repent and forgive and certainly stop biting one another through their socialist system of welfare where the people devour one another by taking the benefits from the fathers of the earth and fake benefactors of the world.
Now Jesus was telling them that they would only be able eat of Jesus' table of freewill offerings, of His Corban of charity. They would have to fast from and eventually give up the entitlements offered by the governments of the world, like the Corban of the Pharisees, because it was making the word of God to none effect, making them merchandise and would curse children as surety to debt.
This separate system of charitable practices taught and appointed by the Christ to His Ekklesia or Church would set the scene for the Christian conflict. At Pentecost thousands of families gathered in an organized system of tens who would learn to practice Pure Religion in faith, hope and charity according to the perfect law of liberty.
Have you received the "blood of Jesus"?
The phrase only appears three times[29] in the Bible and the phrase "blood of Christ" four times[30]but is common amongst the Modern Church doctrines.
Peter uses them both.
First in his introduction he speaks about "sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ".[29] Peter intentionally connects this "blood of Jesus" to "obedience" and although he is writing in the New Covenant he makes a clear statement as to charity covering a a multitude of sins.[31] Why would you need charity to cover a multitude of sins if Jesus' blood is all we need? Did Peter get it wrong or is the modern Church saying and even doing something wrong?
When Hebrews 9:14 says you are to "purge your conscience from dead works" it was talking about the false interpretation of blood sacrifice and what the altars were actually about.
Peter, Paul, James, and John Warned
Peter[32], Paul[33], James[34] and John[35]all 'warned the New Covenant Church that what they were doing and not doing would reveal the truth of their claim to faith in God and His Holy Spirit. Paul warned people to test their faith[36] to make sure they were not deceived or reprobates[37].
Even John warns that we need to walk according to what Jesus showed us and confess our sins if we are to be cleansed of unrighteousness.[38] John even gives the keeping of the commandments as the rod by which we measure the truth of our faith.[39] And those who do not keep the commandments are a liar and Christ is not in them.[40] Over and over John repeats that he that "doeth not righteousness" is not born again of Christ and the Father.[41] And John warns us that we may not only be deceived but may deceive ourselves [42] warning us of the many false teachers who are "out in the world".[43]
Jude 1:16 "These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling [words], having men’s persons in admiration because of advantage."
We are told that we are told in Jude 1:21 "Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. 22 And of some have compassion, making a difference: 23 And others save with fear, pulling [them] out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh."
The Bible from the beginning warns[44] and continues those warnings throughout the New Testament that many will be decieved thinking they are believers while in truth they are workers of iniquity.[45] Because these warnings are ignored by the modern Church, the welfare of a foolish[46] society has become a snare.
- “It is impossible to introduce into society a greater change and a greater evil than this: the conversion of the law into an instrument of plunder.”[47]
People will not be free nor should they be set free in Christ until they repent from eating the flesh of their neighbor and drinking the blood of others and set the table of the LORD in righteousness.
The Modern Christians is back in the bondage of Egypt and entangled again in the yoke of that bondage because of their covetous practices. They must now repent and seek the kingdom of God and His righteousness.
The kingdom of God appointed by Christ to His Church was one form of government where the people organized themselves in a network who cared about each other through the charitable practices of Pure Religion.

Idioms and Metaphors of Flesh and Blood
The word "blood" in Hebrew is dam [48] from damam[49] meaning to be silent, be still, wait.
Eating blood was not just a part of food laws. Blood is often a metaphor for life. Life is in the blood and we are not to eat the life of another. [50]
Reducing the prohibition of eating blood[51] is reducing a spiritual principle to a food law by unmooring the meaning of the metaphor.
The word flesh in Hebrew is the noun basar[52] from the verb basar [53]meaning good tidings. So what does flesh have to do with good tiding and blood have to do with being still?[54]

4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; 5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. 6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, 7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. 8 Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith. 9 But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as theirs also was. 10 ¶ But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience, 11 Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me. 12 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. 13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived. 14 But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them; 15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
