Believer
Misguided Pastors and Modern Christians when talking about whosoever believeth being Saved often say things like:
* A saved believer who has trusted fully in the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross for his or her salvation understands the simplicity of the Gospel of Grace.
People often imagine that they know that they are saved because they say they believe.
- 1. Jesus Christ died for their sins and paid for them all. God's perfect Justice has been satisfied by the death of His Son.
- 2. That Jesus was buried and rose again the third day according to the scriptures. (1Corinthians 15:1-4
- 3. They receive, believe and trust that Christ's perfect sacrifice is all that is required to save them. They know they cannot add anything or subtract anything from Christ's sacrifice.
- 4. Salvation is a free gift. It cannot be earned, there is nothing for the sinner to do for their salvation.
But what did Jesus say?
We are not suggesting or saying that people are saved by works nor by the law like the Pharisees sought to do. Many of these Modern Christians run back to a saved by grace theology whenever anyone talks about what one does or should do.
But what people do or do not do is the fruit of their repentance and we know if you are really a christian by your fruits we will know them.[2]
If you are not a doer of the words of Jesus then you are probably not a true believer. If you are a worker of iniquity you will be turned away by Christ and the idea that you think you are saved is merely a strong delusion. Your faith is dead as evidenced by your lack of doing the works of Christ and not following His way
Jesus tells us that there are many who think they have accepted or believe in Christ but he will say "I never knew you: depart from me". We should be careful to know if we are really saved or just one of those many who will be deceived by the damnable heresies of false prophets..[3]
Evidently, they thought they had faith but did not have real faith and we know that by what they did and did not do.
- How do we know that we have real faith and have not been deceived by false teachers and prophets?
How do you know that your faith is not "in vain"[4]
- What are the fruits of repentance and what do they look like?
A number of terms should be carefully defined in accordance to the meanings of Paul and Christ such as "saved believer". Since Paul preached Christ first[5] those who were the "saved believer" were already doing what Christ said to do.
Saved Believers
What is a Saved believer?
The word "believer" only appears twice in the Bible.
First in Acts 5:14 "And believers were the more added to the Lord, multitudes both of men and women.)"
We see it translated from pisteuontes πιστεύοντες which is a Verb in the Present tense, Participle Mood, Active Voice in the Nominative Case, Masculine and Plural. It appears 7 times in the Bible.[6]
It is from the verb pisteuo πιστεύω[7] a verb translated believe 239 times and believer once. It is from the noun for faith; it can mean "to think to be true" or "place confidence in".
We see a different word pistōn in 1 Timothy 4:12 translated believers, "Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity."
The Greek word pistōn πιστῶν which is an adjective also appears in 1 Timothy 4:10 "For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe.",
Here the word believers is from pistos πιστός[8] meaning faithful. It is defined "of persons who show themselves faithful in the transaction of business, the execution of commands, or the discharge of official duties."
The word pistos does come from the word peitho πείθω which means "to persuade" or "be persuaded" or even "to trust, have confidence" but as an adjective it is defining someone who, because he is convinced or convicted of Christ, shows evidence that he is "of persons who show themselves faithful in the transaction of business, the execution of commands, or the discharge of official duties."
So this begs the question if we are Believers?
Are we faithful in keeping the commandments of Christ?
Are we diligent "in the transaction of business (of Christ), the execution of (His) commands, or the discharge of (His) official duties."
Christ told us to do many things and told us also what not to do to others.
- He told us to actively love one another.
- To love our enemy.
- To not covet.
- To not pray to the fathers of the earth.
- To not be like the Benefactors who exercise authority one over the other.
- To be in the world but not of the world.
- To forgive.[1]
- To serve.
- To make use of our talent.
- To not have a Corban that makes the word of God to none effect.
- To be a doer of that word.
- To seek the kingdom of God and His righteousness.
- He told His Church remain separate from the world.
- He told His Church to go The Way of righteousness.
- He Commanded them to make the people sit down in the tens so that there could be a daily minitration of love.
If we are not faithful in doing what He said to do or by personal or even public policy we are doing contrary to what He said, then we cannot really be considered faithful and therefore are not really believers.
If the word Christian is suppose to be the designation of people following Christ, viz. lovers of Jesus or Yeshua, then there must be many people who say they are Christians but are actually taking His name in vain.
Modern Christians often try to divest from the meaning of the word believer of needing to show the "execution of commands" of Christ or "the discharge of ... duties". They reduce being faithful to simply saying or even believing a certain fact. They seem to think that they merely have to be persuaded that a few statements about Jesus are true and this counts as repentance. They are saved believers in their own minds with no actual evidence being discharged demonstrating their belief. They simply repeat their claim of belief in the finished work of Christ while not doing what He said and even doing the opposite.
Paul in 1 Timothy 4:12 is making it clear that believers should be an example "in word, in conversation (conduct), in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity."
If they are not that example we should be able to at the very least suspect, if not conclude, that they are not saved believers because they are not exhibiting Fruit worthy of repentance.
This is why Paul gives us a long list of those who are not believers and will not inherit the kingdom.[9] Paul in no way was suggesting that we now have a license to sin or go against the commandments of God but was talking about those who are true Believers who show the Fruit of the Spirit.[10]
This being a Believer required outward evidence of belief which would be consistent with the teachings of Christ who says we are not to be hearers only[11] nor merely say we believe in the Lord but were actually Doers of the Word[12] and must bear witness by demonstrating the fruit of repentance.[13]
James' insistence upon works,[14] was also consistent with the words of Christ who said to seek the kingdom of God but also His righteousness.[15] He said to strive[16], and persevere[17].
And of course, there is Jesus' direct instruction about forgiving so that you may be forgiven and if not forgiving then you are not forgiven no matter what you want to think.[1]
Peter was also clear concerning not coveting[18] which would make you Merchandise and warns how you will curse your children by your Covetous Practices.
There is a great deal of evidence that most Modern Christians are not true believers but are actually Workers of Iniquity. They are not doing what Christ said to do. They are not doing what the early Church did. And with their modern welfare they have more in common with the Pharisees than the Christians who found themselves in conflict with Rome.
Just being covetous is evidence that you are not a Believer. Because if you are not a real Believer, then what you do will have you entangled again with the elements of the world.[19] cursing your children with debt.[20]
Paul warned us about coveting and imagining we are saved without the fruits of that salvation.[21]
Paul preached first the Gospel of Christ so his words did not supersede what Christ said. [22]
If you are really a believer in Jesus as the Christ then
Where is your religion
- Where do you find the Daily ministration of the early Church, the Pure Religion of James and the Corban of Jesus?
- Are you following The Blessed Strategy of Christ like the Early Christians?
- Are you following The Way through Love of one another or the way of the world and the Fathers of the earth?
- Do you seek the benefits of bankrupt nations, or do you forgive and seek the benefits of Christ's appointed Kingdom?
- Do you only gather for the comfort it gives you, or do you gather to benefit others?
- Christ came to serve, not be served. Do you desire to be served, or are you coming in His name and according to His character to serve others?
If we desire His Grace but we only love those who love us, then there is no Grace because it is clear we do not really believe in Him.
If we do not Repent of our Covetous Practices and are not diligently gathering together in Free Assemblies of Love for all to provide for one another in Charity according to the Perfect law of liberty then we have nothing according to Paul. According to Luke 6:32 if we only love those who love us there is no "Grace". Christ also said if you do not Forgive neither will the Father forgive you.[24]
It is not enough to hate the deeds of the workers of iniquity, but we must return to Thy first love and thy first work. To break the yoke, we need to return to the ways of righteousness spoken of in Isaiah 58 which are the ways of Christ and the early Church. And His yoke is light for it is carried by our love of one another.
Abraham, Moses, John the Baptist and Christ all created Networks of charity to care for the true needy of society without force which is how they were able to help set people free. Do you gather with His Church to attend to the Weightier matters as Christ said?
- Are you gathering in a Network of righteousness?
- Do you come to love others or just be loved?
- Are your Congregations' gatherings fruitful enough so that no one has to pray to Benefactors who exercise authority one over the other?
- Does anyone in your Free Assemblies have to apply to the Fathers of the earth, or seek their many benefits?
Early Christians found themselves in conflict with these systems of social welfare because they made the word of God to none effect. Christians had repented of their covetous nature when they received the Baptism of Christ. They heard and became Doers of the word not hearers only.
Remember Proverbs 12:24, "The hand of the diligent shall bear rule: but the Slothful shall be under Tribute."
We know that liberty under God is not for the covetous who are Biting one another but it is also not for the slothful. If we are not congregating together in free assemblies bound together in a broad network by faith, hope, and charity alone according to the perfect law of liberty then we are not truly seeking the Kingdom of God nor His righteousness.
If you are not doing what the early Church was doing then you might be a false believer.
