The most predominant form of government throughout history has been based on voluntary systems composed of individual families who freely gather in a network of free assemblies. The people intentionally chose to form what was called the tens, hundreds, and thousands. The original nation of Israel, the Teutons, and many others societies all did this including the early Christians who gathered in this manner commanded by Christ so they could provide a Daily ministration in order to bind society over a vast area into a cohesive nation by love for one another instead of by force.
In the government of God Christ substituted taxes with charity, force with vountarism, allegiance with faith. This form of self-government which allowed the power of the "state" to remain with the individual was demonstrated in the practice of Pure Religion which was the Corban of Christ which set the people free.

Government narrowly defined

Government is presently defined as the governing body of a nation, state, or community.

The word is also defined as:

  • "the system by which a nation, state, or community is governed."

Which may include:

  • "the action or manner of controlling or regulating a nation, organization, or people."

And:

  • "the group of people in office at a particular time; administration."


The word government is from the Greek word kuberman which means steer. It has come to mean rule or force due to a pervasive types of Statism which uses force or exercise authority one over the other.

We assume that government is always a matter of force by those who govern. But the word govern only means:

  • "conduct the policy, actions, and affairs of (a state, organization, or people)."

Broader view

While a government may include "rulers" who exercise authority, no where do these definitions of "government" require a "ruler" who rules over the people. There is a rich history of governments and nations operating as diversified networks of voluntary systems of individuals living by the perfect law of liberty.

In fact, “our modern reliance on government to make law and establish order is not the historical norm.”[1]

What if "the system by which a nation, state, or community is governed" only included people who did not exercise authority or "rule" one over the other?

What if "the action or manner of controlling or regulating a nation, organization, or people" was the result of freewill cooperation of self governing individuals who governed their own choice without exercising authority or "ruling" one over the other?

What if "the group of people in office at a particular time" provided a daily ministration by voluntarism and charity through the perfect law of liberty without exercising rule one over the other?

What if conduct and policy, actions, and affairs of (a state, organization, or people). was to not exercise authority one over the other?

What if it was the policy of a particular form of "government" to only serve the people without being rulers, through a voluntary system of public affairs where those people in government were not allowed to exercise authority one over the other?

Agreed

Most government types come about because of some form of Social contract in a direct or indirect form.

Most all government types include some form of centralized power in the hands of one or a small group of rulers who exercise authority one over the other. The amount of power may vary, as in the case of Minarchism versus Communism or Fascism.

The manner in which these "rulers' are established may also very such as monarchy verse a direct or indirect democracy.

They are established by forms of agreement or capitulation.

Powers

It is important to note all power of government originates in the individual or individual families.

Almost all stories of the origin of mankind begin with the idea of one man and one woman endowed by a creator with the right or power of choice.

This power, which comes in several forms, is often like the camels nose in the tent. Once some power or power of choice originating in individuals is granted or vested to a central government, it usually leads to more and more power relinquished by the people because the men who seek offices of power will desire more power.

purpose of government

According to John Locke, the main purpose of government is to protect the natural rights of individuals, such as life, liberty, and property or as the Declaration of Independence states, "the pursuit of happiness.

Locke believed that people are equal according to the Natural Law and have the right to protect those natural rights themselves. The rights are equal in society, even though some may have more property or resources, and therefore power than others. He argued that governments are necessary to ensure that everyone's rights are protected equally.

Government are created in the image of the people deriving their just powers from the tacit or direct consent of the people. As power increase in the ruling class they may begin to recreate the people. The nature of the institutions of government by default or design recreate or degenerate the people.

The limiting the power of governments through constitutions will require the people to religiously exercise more responsibility of choice in free assemblies.

A constitutional Republic often leads to Democracy and to other forms of Collectivism, and then Socialism which leads to Communism. A religious dependence on Altruism by the diligent Anarchist may produce a Viable republic or at least a Republican form of government functioning according to the Perfect law of liberty, which was The Way to set society free.

But there are many forms of government.

We find the word kubernesis[10] translated government in 1 Corinthians 12:28 "And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues."

Christ appointed a government that was not to exercise authority one over the other. But that "one form of government" was to provide benefits for the welfare of the people through Charity, or what was called Corban, made possible by the Freewill offerings of the people willing to practice Pure Religion instead of the Covetous Practices of most of the people of the World.


Of the people

"This book is for the Government of the People, by the People, and for the People." This statement is found the General Prologue to the John Wycliffe Bible translation of 1384.

People like to separate religion from the idea of government, but faith and allegiance and the original function of Religion and many forms of government have been entwined throughout history.

All the stories of the Bible can only be understood if we include the idea of government.


A meaning of terms

Like the word religion, there are five places the word government appears in the Bible. A simple word count in the King James Version, within those books of the Bible, can be misleading. Even the word Charity never appears in the Old Testament, but the books of that most ancient of scripture talk about charity all the time, using other words like Freewill offerings. This is not because the Bible does not always talk about governments nor religion and many other terms by addressing them directly. The truth is that the entire book is about both religion and government. The problem arises in our understanding of these and many other terms.


Man's relationship to the different types of religion and types of government is often determined by the nature of his heart, the condition of his mind and the choices of his soul. The nature of our hearts and the condition of our minds certainly determine the nature of our religion and of course our government. The destiny of all society is predetermined by our spiritual choice of, or inclination toward, the different types of these human institutions.

Jesus did not talk a great deal about the policies of governments like Rome, because His government or kingdom was not of the Roman world. He did say to call no man on earth Father, and that was a direct comment concerning the position of the people to the Roman State as to praying to it, being of it or merely in it.[11] He thought you ought to pay what you owe it but he also talked about not being like the governments of the gentiles who call themselves benefactors but exercise authority one over the other.

Jesus was talking about the policies of the people who engaged in the public religion and looked to and applied to the Fathers of the earth like the Patronus and Conscripted fathers of Rome. The policy of the people to pray to these Fathers of Rome as their Benefactors to obtain their covetous benefits was the sin of which Christ called them to repent.

Of course, to be real Christians and followers of The Way of Jesus the Messiah -- the Christ, the highest son of David, who as the rightful king, fired the Moneychangers -- they would have to start their own Daily ministration before they could be counted as Doers of the Word. The Ministers or leaders of the Church were to facilitate that charity through the service of Christ as one form of government so that the people did not have to pray at the civic altars of Rome and the Pharisees.

The State's benefits, in both the system of Corban administered by the Pharisees and the system of Qorban administered through the Roman civic Temples, were being provided by forced contributions. John the Baptist also spoke against such practices. He did not directly condemn it, but he told the people to repent, and he taught them to share with one another in charity, if they saw needs.[12]

These systems of free bread that historians talk about were the social welfare of those societies, and they were making the word of God to none effect. John, Christ and the early Church taught the principles of liberty under God and His righteousness. The Church provided the Daily ministration of the people, which was the antitheses of what we call Welfare today.

Modern Christians have gone out of the way of Christ. They have little or no Daily ministration. They prefer to eat at the table of kings with great appetite.[13] Instead of the charity of Christ, they desire the One purse of modern Socialism or the sloth of False religion.


The government Bible

Being kings and priests was being the government of the people, for the people and by the people.

Many people think government is separate from the message of the Gospel of the kingdom. Christ warns that those who follow The Way will eventually come into conflict with the governments of the world.

Because people do not want to really follow what Christ said and commanded, false teachers come in and say things like the "LACK of commentary on governmental behavior fairly SHOUTS that Christianity is NOT about what a government does." But government and our relationship to it is a topic in the Bible more than any other single subject.

There is a call to remain blind and close your eyes and ears to the truth about the message of God and His kingdom of righteousness at hand. Many will profess Christ, but you will know if they really believe in Him by what they do, and the governments they form will tell you where their heart is at.

There was a Christian conflict with the government of the world at that time, and in truth, with many of them today, if we will truly do as Christ and the prophets have always told us and live by faith, hope and charity, which is love. How we govern ourselves in the world, and the fruits we produce, tells the story of our faith or the lack of it.

Cain's creation of the first city State, and all the cities of the Bible, each had some form of government, from Ur to Haran and Sodom and Gomorrah - which contributed to their fate. Abraham forsook cities and did something different with his altars. Nimrod's Babylon was destroyed, but it had some form of government called Babylon which is mentioned again in Revelations. Pharaoh's Egypt held the people in bondage, and after they were freed, they were never to return to the bondage of Egypt again.

Both Babylon and Egypt are warning us about bad forms of governments along with historians like Polybius. They all warn by their history that we will degenerate into perfect savages if we pursue the covetous practices through governments Peter warned us about. And of course, consider the government of Saul, which is considered a rejection of God, along with a detailed warning in 1 Samuel 8 about what would be our fate if we chose such a government, including how God would not hear us.

Of course Deuteronomy 17 goes into detail about what to put into a written constitution, if we are so foolish to elect to have a ruler who can exercise authority over us. Caesar's Rome was a government given the power to compel taxes. Israel as a nation in its infancy, while it was still wandering in the wilderness, was a unique form of government where most of the taxes were voluntary, and to whom you gave them was entirely up to you.

Everywhere you turn in the Bible, there are references to governments. Every reference to cities and "kingdoms" or "kings" and "rulers" is a reference to some form of government. They either promote God as the ruler of our hearts and minds, or they describe power given to other men who rule over us, which is a rejection of God.

References to Beasts in the Bible is reference to governments who go about and devour who they will, and the Mark of the Beast is evidence by a number issued by the Beast of Revelations.

We have not even mentioned the Ten Commandments which hang in the Supreme Court and use to be in every courthouse in the land. Among those commandments which Jesus says to keep, if you want Eternal life, are ones about coveting your neighbor's goods and making covenants with the inhabitants where you go, which includes covenants with their gods many. Even John Wycliffe introduced his translation of the Bible back in 1382 with the words, “This Bible is for the Government of the People, by the People, and for the People.”

All governments are the result of consent, contracts or agreement of our own or our fathers. So, references to covenants, vows, leagues, agreements or just striking hands and being a surety for debt are references about government. And of course, rights, laws and courts and justice, including the Weightier matters of Christ, which include law, judgement mercy and faith, all have to do with government. Even allegiance is synonymous with faith, which is why Christ prohibited and warned against the taking of oaths. When a Bible reference includes the word faith, it aims at the topic of government.

Jesus talked about government all the time, from the Benefactors to the Fathers of the earth. And every time he criticized the Pharisees of the temple, he was criticizing the government. Why? Because it became like Rome.

If Religion was defined as the performance of our duty to God and our fellowman, then religion too has to do with most governments we see today, because they are created to perform that duty. The government of God performs that duty freely out of love, while the government of men - often called the world - compels the contributions of the people, or it goes into debt, binding the people in order to obtain the means to perform that duty. Pure Religion is to perform that duty to your fellowman unspotted by the temptation to force the offerings of the people like the World.

The Term

The first place we see the word government is in Isaiah 9:6:

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government[14] shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

The second places the same Hebrew word appears in Isaiah 9:7:

Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.

The word הרשׂמ misrah is from the primary word הרשׂ sarah [15] translated power and defined contend, have power, contend with, persist, exert oneself, persevere.

It is the same three letters as the word Sarah, which also means princess. It is translated remnant in:

Jeremiah 15:11 The LORD said, Verily it shall be well with thy remnant; verily I will cause the enemy to entreat thee [well] in the time of evil and in the time of affliction.

And as "it" in Job:

Job 37:3 He directeth it under the whole heaven, and his lightning unto the ends of the earth.

Even though הרשׂ sarah is a primary word, if we remove the letter Hey ה , we get a two letter word which is very common and related to things governmental. The word רשׂ sar[16] without that emphasis letter ה Hey appears more that 400 times in the bible as prince, captain, chief, ruler, even governor etc. It is composed of the Hebrew letters Shem Reish.

ש SHIN is a letter that includes the idea of Eternal Flame of Revelation, but it is also connected to terms like the sun, as source, or it may indicate the idea of teeth, as in consume or destroy.
ר REISH is a letter associated with rulers and authority, such as the Egyptian AmanRa. It is connected to the ideas of Process of Clarification and the "head" or "beginning", as a person who is the head or highest.

Add the letter ה Hey, as we see with הרשׂ sarah, and you emphasize something with an Expression--Thought, turning Speech into Action, which is why we see it mean an exertion of power. It is also associated with both jubilation or celebration, but also fence or boundary.

Add the letter Mem which always is connected with the flow of water or power, etc. So when you see הרשׂמ misrah, consider it to mean the flow of power in a rule, dominion or government.

In Isaiah 22:21 we see a different word translated government הלשׁממ memshalah[17]:

Isaiah 22:21 And I will clothe him with thy robe, and strengthen him with thy girdle, and I will commit thy government into his hand: and he shall be a father to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and to the house of Judah.

It is commonly translated dominion or rule, but also government and power.

It is from לשׁממ mimshal[18] a noun meaning dominion and ruler which is from the root word and verb לשׁמ mashal[19] meaning to rule, have dominion, reign or in other words the power to make laws like many governments.

"Government is not reason; it is not eloquent; it is force. Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master." - George Washington

Government is about power. But that may not mean power over others.

That power of government may be centralized in a few or distributed in the hands of the many.

In the hands of a few, it has a tendency to corrupt and to draw those who seek power.

In the hands of the many, it may be individual in nature or it may be collective.

Power as a collective requires a binding agent to hold the many as one.

If the cohesive agent used to bind the many is contractual, the corporate body of the collective may be authoritarian. This produces a situation where the many may have power over the few.

But if the collective is bound by common values and virtues, the rights and dominion of the individual may remain both intact and secure from the dominion and the will of the many.

In the new testament, we see the word government in :

1 Corinthians 12:28 And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.

The word is κυβέρνησις~ kubernesis appears only once in the Bible.[20]


2 Peter 2:10 But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government[21]. Presumptuous are they, selfwilled, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities.

The word government in 2 Peter is the Greek word κυριότης kuriotes which is normally translated dominion.[22]

Both Peter and Jude are talking about despising dominion using the word ἀθετέω atheteo[23]defined as "to do away with, to set aside, disregard".

Doing away with dominion is what Israelite people did when they moved the right to rule themselves as kings and priests into the hands of a ruler in 1 Samuel 8 when the voice of the people elected a ruler who could exercise authority one over the other. Their setting aside and disregard for the endowed dominion of God was called a rejection of God.

There is no doubt that the right to rule mankind is vested by God into every man until men reject the ways and will of God and vest those rights in another. It is clear by 1Samuel 8[24] and Paul's Romans 13[25] that the turning of man from God's way to establish rulers over himself and his neighbor brings punishment to those who reject God's dominion for man's.

The word government and dominion really mean the same thing, and there is government vested in free people by God. And since there is also a government vested by men in others, then seeking the righteousness of God is seeking how to live in a free society under the perfect law of liberty by faith, hope and charity.

To create governments where men may rule one over the other is rejecting God and despising the dominion God endowed every man with.

God wants us to repent and "return every man unto his possession, and ye shall return every man unto his family".[26]

"The state” acts in two capacities: governmental and proprietary. The distinction between the two is best stated in Cincinnati v. Cameron, 33 Ohio St. 336, approved by this court in Seattle v. Stirrat, 55 Wash. 560, 104 Pac. 834, 30 L.R.A. (N.S.) 1275:
"In its governmental or public character, it represents the state, while in the other it is a mere private corporation. As a political institution, the municipality occupies a different position, and is subject to different liabilities from those which are imposed upon the private corporation. But because these two characters are united in the same legal entity, it does not follow that the shield which covers the political equally protects the private corporation." STRAND v. STATE., 16 Wn.(2d) 107, 116 (January 6, 1943)


Anarchism is a belief in the abolition of all government and the organization of society on a voluntary, cooperative basis without recourse to force or compulsion.

Anarcho-capitalism (also known as “libertarian anarchy” or “market anarchism” or “free market anarchism”) is a libertarian and individualist anarchist political philosophy that advocates the elimination of the state in favor of individual sovereignty in a free market.

Since Capitalism is where the individual owns the means of production and most of the means of production is dependent upon the labor of the individual you cannot or do not have anarchism until you have capitalism. Any attempt to distribute what the individual produces without his or her consent instantly violates NAP and capitalism and makes someone a ruler over your labor.

The definition of capitalist does not include a "devouring pathological need to own everything" as some people like to suggest. It does not even include the idea of greed. Although a capitalist may have such a desire, so might a socialist like Stalin.

Being white or black does not mean you are a racist.

Wanting to own what you produce or gather does not mean you have a "devouring pathological need to own everything."

Such pathologies are the result of anger and resentment and other selfish pathologies, and they are not the result of true love of your fellowman.

You must love your neighbor's right to his labor as much as you love your own. And you must put that love into action with the practice of Pure Religion.

Socialism is a snare of Covetous practices that makes the people merchandise and often curses their children with debt.
