As a fwmininw noun it is translated in the Bible as service 96 time, servile 12, work 10, bondage 8 times. It is also translated act, serve, servitude, and tillage twice each as effect and labour at least once each.

It is from the root word abad Ayin-Beit-Dalet (דבע), meaning labour or to work. [1]

It is translated worshippers 5 times

The same word ‘abodah consists of the letters Ayin-Beit-Reish-Hei(הדבע) but there is also עֲבוֹדָה Abowdah (Avoda, Ayin-Beit-Vav-Dalet-Reish-Hei) is still from the root word Ayin-Beit-Dalet, meaning labour or to work.

  • ע AYIN also U Divine Providence Eye or Well of five states of kindness or severity. [eye, watch]70
  • ב BEIT Purpose: God Dwelling Place Below - from house or God's house here[household, in, into]2
  • ד DALET Selflessness – Charity, back and forth or through a door or pathway, to enter like a fish, 4

  • ה HEI Expression--Thought, Speech, Action. Manifest seeds of thought and life. [Emphasize, jubilation, window, fence]5

Adding letters like VAV and HEI adds to and even alters the meaning of a word like work.

The letter Ayin is a letter connected to "Divine Providence Eye" which is revelation by God. it is connected to what was called the "five states of kindness or severity"[2]. Beit meaning a house or household and Delet the path of charity.

Aboda is also seen as Abovda or Abowdah (Hebrew: עֲבוֹדָה‎), is from a Hebrew word, literally meaning "work".

In a modern context, usually refers to business-type activities, it can also mean agricultural work and, more traditionally, serving God. It is the work of worship or the manifestation of worship. If there is no Abowdah our claimed faith is dead.

In its original, traditional sense, "abodah" was applied to sacrifices offered in Temple in Jerusalem. But the temple was a symbol of spiritual things and spiritual things live in men. We are to be a living temple. Each of us are the stones and bricks of the temple of God. The daily sacrifice is not about killing cows and sheep but about a Daily ministration of Freewill offerings given in faith in the Kingdom of God and His righteousness.

The word "abodah" was also used to described the epitome of sacrificial rite, the service of The High Priest on days like Yom Kippur (The Day of Atonement). Through Sophistry man has again unmoored the spirit of God from the symbols of His liturgical enactment and decrees.
