Ease into freedom

Someone asked:

Coming together in a network is not just a good idea but it is an essential element of liberty.

• "How can we ease people into freedom in a way that they can adapt to it, and live with the greater burden of responsibility that it brings?"

My response was:

Freedom is not that easy.

This why we created the wiki site PreparingYou so that people can share information and work together. The early Church was eventually persecuted because they made a law where everyone had to join the state's welfare system. If most Christians today were doing what the early Christian church was doing they would be exempt from Obamacare. We call this the Christian conflict

Then someone asked:

• "Can someone please help my find a scripture that shows where one man or group of men are justified in demanding another man's wealth that he has worked for or been blessed with?"

My response was:

I cannot show you where it is what God wants but like it says in Proverbs 12:24, "The hand of the diligent shall bear rule: but the slothful shall be under tribute."

People lose their liberty all of time. “The real destroyers of the liberties of the people is he who spreads among them bounties, donations, and benefits.” Plutarch.

Or how about Polybius who wrote after Rome was becoming a socialist state, "The masses continue with an appetite for benefits and the habit of receiving them by way of a rule of force and violence. The people, having grown accustomed to feed at the expense of others and to depend for their livelihood on the property of others... institute the rule of violence; and now uniting their forces massacre, banish, and plunder, until they degenerate again into perfect savages and find once more a master and monarch."

Then there is David and Paul that warned us if we eat at their table we would be snared and trapped.

Psalms 69:22 "Let their table become a snare before them: and that which should have been for their welfare, let it become a trap."

Romans 11:9 "And David saith, Let their table be made a snare, and a trap, and a stumblingblock, and a recompence unto them:"

We were told not to eat the dainties of rulers. Proverbs 23:1 "When thou sittest to eat with a ruler, consider diligently what is before thee: 2 And put a knife to thy throat, if thou be a man given to appetite. 3 Be not desirous of his dainties: for they are deceitful meat."

The modern Churches did not warn us but Peter told us such covetous practices would curse our children with debt.

Repentance is thinking another way. People said they believed but asked Christ for help with their unbelief. The Early Church took care of all the social welfare of Christians even though there were many welfare programs offered by Rome including, at times, health care.

Rome's system was supported by taxes but the early church used charity and what James calls "the perfect law of liberty". The answer includes home schooling, home health, home defense and then binding the people together in a network of charity so they do not need to look to the state but rely only on the perfect law of liberty.

Baptism was about submerging yourself into the water of Christs love.
