Mischief

Rhadiourgia

Acts 13:10 And said, O full of all subtilty and all mischief[1], [thou] child of the devil, [thou] enemy of all righteousness, wilt thou not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord?

The term rhadiourgia[2] translated mischief is only used once but is the same as rhadiourgema seen once in Acts 18:14

In the Old Testament the term mischief appears many times but it is not always translated from the same Hebrew word.

Acown

Genesis 42:4 "But Benjamin, Joseph’s brother, Jacob sent not with his brethren; for he said, Lest peradventure mischief<0611>[3] befall him[4]."

The Hebrew term acown translated as mischief appears about five times in the scripture. it is accompanied her by the word qara KufReishAlef which includes additional letters YodKufReishAlefNunNun. The double Nun can be connected to either good or evil, pure and impure, and stems far back to the Garden where the deception of the serpent over shadowed the pureness of the tree of life. The use of terms like AyinNunNun "the double Nun would suggest that this spiritual insight is through faith and faith alone." The fear was not just for physical danger but spiritual threat.

It was used only four more times.

Genesis 42:38 And he said, My son shall not go down with you; for his brother is dead, and he is left alone: if mischief<0611>[3] befall him by the way in the which ye go, then shall ye bring down my gray hairs with sorrow to the grave.

Ra
