Taking some one to court made up of a jury of "Living Stones".

Stoning someone to death was like taking someone to the court made up of the Living Stones and producing the verdict of shunning in side the imaginary walls of society or banishment outside the gates. It was excommunication, being evicted from the community and the welfare system of God.

It does not mean to pick up rocks and throw them at someone to murder them. Thou Shall Not Kill.
