Dear Network,

How can we start to bear good fruits that would be acceptable to the Lord? How can we help women and children who are in desperate need of basic necessities? Is there someone out there in need of our assistance who are in the trenches everyday giving to those in need the love and compassion that they have been called to give? Can our gifts of charity to them be considered doing a good work right now? Can we make a difference in the lives of women and children today? Is this part of our calling?

In asking myself these questions I was lead to ALL GOD’s CHILDREN ministries and was moved by their story and humble beginnings:

One afternoon, over 20 years ago, Carmen Beteta, 19 years old and living as a pre-novitiate nun in a Honduran convent, came face to face with the hopeless desperation felt by so many abandoned children. Two young girls, ages 8 and 9, were brought to the convent by a concerned woman in hopes that they could find refuge there. Their mother had died and their new family with older stepbrothers was not safe. The convent was unable to take them in, but Carmen could not erase their fearful faces from her mind. Knowing that she had a key to her parent’s empty home in Tegucigalpa, she decided that same day to leave the convent in order to care for and protect the two girls.

That pivotal first day marked the beginning of Hogar de Niños, Nazareth, now an orphanage that is a living example of words like “love,” “home,” and “family” to 200 girls and boys, many who never knew what it felt like to belong to someone. “Mama Carmen,” with the assistance of a nurturing Christian staff, lives every moment of every day for her children, overseeing their care and activities, loving them with the love of Jesus.

Mark 9:37 Whoever welcomes one of these little children in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me does not welcome me but the one who sent me.

I would like to invite anyone moved to help them, to consider supporting Carmen and her ministry on a continual basis as part of our freewill offerings. Please contact me if you would like to help support this important ministry and together we can make a difference in the lives of these women and children.
