Hebrew version of a calendar

Calendar psychosis

Is there a spiritual value in pursuing the Calendar issue?

Calendars fall into three types, lunisolar, solar and lunar, besides calendars with "years" of fixed length, with no intercalation. Most pre-modern calendars are lunisolar. The Islamic and some Buddhist calendars are lunar, while most modern calendars are solar, based on either the Julian or the Gregorian calendars.

There can be sub-types like the Sidereal solar calendars that also uses the stars and constellations of the Zodiac and earth's relationship to them.

When the sun is reckoned with the equinox and the crossing of the celestial equator the seasons are synchronized with the declination of the sun. That calendar is called a tropical solar calendar.

Gregorian, Julian, Coptic calendars fall in this category. A typical lunisolar calendar has a year made up of a whole number of lunar months, it usually can't indic,te the position of Earth on its revolution around the sun as well as a pure solar calendar can.

The Islamic calendar is a purely lunar calendar and some Jews, like the Pharisees, used lunar calendars. Today some Christians and of course messianic Jews are beginning to used the Lunar calendar. It sets them a part and gives them a sense of identity and a feeling of being separation from the world. This separation may give them a sense of self-righteousness but has little to with the real righteousness of God. The measurement of the movement of the universe does not move the universe but is merely information pucked from the tree of knowledge.

The truth is that early Israel used all these calendars. They were great navigators as the sea kings but to determine feasts they used the Lunar calendar so they would have the benefit of a full moon on the way to and at the festivals.

Before there were clocks and cell phones along with global communication at our finger tips, before we harnessed electricity with lighting on every street and laced our civilization with highways and rails and traveled through the air the idea of meeting when the moon was full was practical and had a viable purpose.

Even into the 15th and 16th century it was common see Ten Tithingmen, a Hundredsman, and clerks of the Kingdom of God, clergymen of the Church, meet on the full moon at the time of the filling of the butts.

The "filling of the butts" referred to target practice with their bows and arrows. The full moon, marking the time of the meeting, aided all in returning home when the meetings ran late. This intimate group derived from the Tens set a gathering of twelve men that was the foundation of the voluntary national self-government of free people.

The phases of the moon allowed for a natural time keeper visible to all to assist the people in gathering at the most practical time.

So why do people latch on to odd calendars?

  • psychosis is from the Greek word psukhōsis ‘animation,’ from psukhoun ‘give life to,’ from psukhē ‘soul, mind.’
It is defined as "a severe mental disorder in which thought and emotions are so impaired that contact is lost with external reality."

People often unmoor the purpose of what God was telling us through Moses and Jesus so that they may feel justified in the practice of some ritual and avoid the burden of seeking true righteousness intended.

"Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen." Romans 1:25

They may be simply ignorant of the real purpose of these rituals and ceremonies but when they hear about the real Corban of the prophets of God before the Pharisees twisted it, when they understand why there were Freewill offerings and a Daily ministration through charity in the practice of Pure Religion and the Perfect law of liberty; when they are willing to repent and accept in their hearts and minds what how the government of God fed the sheep of that God of creation and life it should awaken them to that true purpose of Christ and His government organized in congregations of Tens.

The only reason they used a lunar calendar was to help the people gather on feast days for the purposes of establishing and renewing a network of social charity that provided a daily ministration throughout a broad nation of people faithfully dedicating themselves toward attending to the weightier matters of Christ.

All these rituals had a purpose that provided for society in a certain way that would bind the people by a faith in love instead of force and a hopeful communion instead of contracts as the other governments of the world commonly do.

Even the Sabbath was not a day as much as it was a way...

We are to be separate but that separation should be based on our love for one another and not on symbolic Rituals and ceremonies that have been unmoored from their purpose in a personal quest for self-righteousness rather than the righteousness of God and His Kingdom of Love.

"Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath [days]:" Colossians 2:16

If you think you are following the prophets with your feasts and calendars and have a riht to judge others in the counting of new moon, or of the sabbath [days] I must ask
People followed Abraham, Moses, John the Baptist and Jesus. The altars of clay and stone was a way to create the social bonds of free people. The levites led the Israelites. And the early Church followed Christ and His Way, which was The Way, and advocated a Daily ministration that was dependent on Pure Religion through Fervent charity only. This was the Corban of Christ which was not like the system of Corban of the Pharisees nor of Rome or the systems of FDR and LBJ.
The church lost "the way" when it abandoned the practice of "pure Religion" while claiming to be the Church established by Christ. The people developed an appetite for the "wages of unrighteousness" from "public religion" in the days of Constantine. Those new Christians that often failed to fully repent degenerated the moral character of society with the masses of "instant christians".
That new religion of the emperor introduced a new faith with his apostate church replacing the doctrine of Jesus with the "doctrines of men", the Holy Spirit with emotion, the truth with the speaking of "great swelling words, having men's persons in admiration because of advantage."[1]
They had a form of godliness but denied the power thereof.

Where is your religion

  • Do you only gather for the comfort it gives you, or do you gather to benefit others?
  • Christ came to serve, not be served. Do you desire to be served, or are you coming in His name and according to His character to serve others?

If we desire His Grace but we only love those who love us, then there is no Grace because it is clear we do not really believe in Him.

If we do not Repent of our Covetous Practices and are not diligently gathering together in Free Assemblies of Love for all to provide for one another in Charity according to the Perfect law of liberty then we have nothing according to Paul. According to Luke 6:32 if we only love those who love us there is no "Grace". Christ also said if you do not Forgive neither will the Father forgive you.[2]

It is not enough to hate the deeds of the workers of iniquity, but we must return to Thy first love and thy first work. To break the yoke, we need to return to the ways of righteousness spoken of in Isaiah 58 which are the ways of Christ and the early Church. And His yoke is light for it is carried by our love of one another.

Abraham, Moses, John the Baptist and Christ all created Networks of charity to care for the true needy of society without force which is how they were able to help set people free. Do you gather with His Church to attend to the Weightier matters as Christ said?

  • Are you gathering in a Network of righteousness?
  • Do you come to love others or just be loved?

Early Christians found themselves in conflict with these systems of social welfare because they made the word of God to none effect. Christians had repented of their covetous nature when they received the Baptism of Christ. They heard and became Doers of the word not hearers only.

Remember Proverbs 12:24, "The hand of the diligent shall bear rule: but the Slothful shall be under Tribute."

We know that liberty under God is not for the covetous who are Biting one another but it is also not for the slothful. If we are not congregating together in free assemblies bound together in a broad network by faith, hope, and charity alone according to the perfect law of liberty then we are not truly seeking the Kingdom of God nor His righteousness..

Calendars of men

One Hebrew calendar is said to be a combined solar/lunar calendar, in that it strives to have its years coincide with the tropical year and its months coincide with the synodic months. This is a complicated goal, and the rules for the Hebrew calendar are correspondingly complex.

Some of these rules were set down by the Sanhedrin president Hillel II in approximately AD 359 but the original details of his calendar conclusions are uncertain. The question of what day it is or which calendar to use has plagued man more than the catastrophic events of his known and unknown history.

Besides the era of Noah's flood there is evidence that around the eighth century BC something happened that affected the measurement of times and seasons. Something was changing the relationship of the earth and the heavens that forced men to rethink their calendars.

Are we suppose to be observing righteousness or days, and months, and times, and years?

"Howbeit then, when ye knew not God, ye did service unto them which by nature are no gods. But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage? Ye observe days, and months, and times, and years. I am afraid of you, lest I have bestowed upon you labour in vain." Galatians 4:8-11

Whenever people speak of the calendars of men I am afraid for them.

Should we be eating of the tree of knowledge or the tree of life?

Why is your calendar so important?

People will say that we need to follow the right calendar or keep what we imagine to be the message of the Old Testament and the works of the law we believe it is telling us to keep.

Men may say they seek to know the calendar of God but it is often their opinion about God's creation that is worshiped.

"Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified." Galatians 2:16

Why is it not their walk with the righteous Holy Spirit and the will of God not foremost in their lives?

Do you really think there is anything that you do in your flesh that justifies you?

"[There is] therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit... That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit..." Romans 8:1-5

To put your faith in your ability to calculate the days of God or His will by the counting of days is vanity. To put your trust in the opinions of men about how to count the days of the heavens from the earth is idolatry.

The calendar is a tool of the flesh and only a shadow of creation. While it is a reflection of the creation of God it is not God or is it the Spirit of God.

Why would you need to be observers of days, and months, and times, and years when you are walking in the Spirit of God?

"If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit." Galatians 5:25

The knowledge of creation is not the knowledge of God. Knowledge of God only comes through a communion of our spirit with the Holy Spirit of God. The righteous giving and forgiving is a talent granted by God Himself not through the vanity of the flesh but the humble submission to God's Holy Spirit. Do not neglect the talent of the LORD in search for the tools of men.

Early Israel and the Early Church took care of all social welfare through a daily ministration funded by freewill offerings or what Paul calls charity. They were only able to do this because both organized themselves in a network of Tens as commanded by Christ, choosing to live by faith rather than force, hope rather than entitlements.

There is a choice before the people of the world. They may repent and seek the kingdom of God and the righteousness of God through faith, hope and charity desiring eternal life by loving God and our neighbor or they may continue the bite one another through the covetous practices that has made them merchandise and curse children of their society with eternal debt.

"Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are [these]; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God." Galatians 5:19

Who will and will not inherit the kingdom?

What is the law of righteousness?

Are people creating factions at the altar by imagining that they are obeying the law of righteousness when they are really workers of iniquity?

Are they under a Strong delusion and actually pursuing the ways of self righteousness, counting days but knowing not the way of the Sabbath.

Many try to follow the ways of modern Messianic Judaism professing themselves to be faithful in jots and tittles but are deceived through the sophistry of serpents and men. They are in truth lovers of the reward of unrighteousness and snared by their their own appetite for gifts and set not the table of the Lord nor gather in the nation of Tens as commanded by the Messiah.

Where covetous practices rule the hearts of the people there can be no liberty under God.

"And thou shalt take no gift: for the gift blindeth the wise, and perverteth the words of the righteous." Exodus 23:8

"Thou shalt not wrest judgment; thou shalt not respect persons, neither take a gift: for a gift doth blind the eyes of the wise, and pervert the words of the righteous." Deuteronomy 16:19

"Cursed be he that taketh reward to slay an innocent person. And all the people shall say, Amen." Deuteronomy 27:25

"For the congregation of hypocrites [shall be] desolate, and fire shall consume the tabernacles of bribery." Job 15:34

"A wicked [man] taketh a gift out of the bosom[3] to pervert the ways of judgment." Proverbs 17:23
