2 Corinthians 4

Saint Paul the Apostle of Jesus the Christ and servant of the people who live by faith, hope and fervent charity instead of the legal charity which is the covetous practices of the world.

Are we earthen vessels filled with the Holy Spirit or under a strong delusion? Have we "renounced the hidden things of dishonesty" or through "all deceivableness of unrighteousness... believed a lie"?^[1] Have we degenerated to the point where evil is good becoming workers of iniquity? V2 What are the "hidden things of dishonesty^[2]"? kruptos hidden, concealed, kept secret. When religion becomes an ideology and a feeling and the masses replace Pure Religion with Public religion they will bite one another in covetous practices through men who exercise authority until they are snare again the bondage of Egypt.
What does it mean to not in walk "in craftiness"^[3]? Craftiness is panourgia skilful, clever, subtlety. The strange woman who with her strange fire plays the harlot and tempts a young man who lacks understanding with her crafts of subtleness and flattery to abandon the ways of righteousness.^[4]
Who has been nor handling^[5]the word of God deceitfully^[5] i.e. doloo to ensnare with corruption? Did not David and Paul warn that their welfare tables were a snare^[6] and we should touch not^[7]?
2V "by manifestation^[8] of the truth^[9] commending^[10] ourselves to every man’s conscience^[11] in the sight of God.
What does it mean to be "commending ourselves to every man’s conscience"?
It means that we extend the right of individual conscience to everyman. That we do not seek to rule over one another through men who exercise authority^[12] because we are not like the governments of the world. We are set free as we judge to set our neighbor free.
The deeds of the Nicolaitan do not extend that liberty of choice to others.
V3 The Gospel of the kingdom is only hid^[13] to those who are lost^[14]:
V4 Who are the god of this world (age) hath blinded the minds^[15] of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. The ministers of the kingdom of God are the servants^[16] of the people for Jesus’ sake.
God of this world which we see in V4 "the god of this world(aionos, age) hath blinded the minds of them which believe not" does not mean the planet. Paul was talking about certain rulers in the world at that "time".
Does the modern Christian live by faith, hope and charity or force, fear and fealty through the covetous practices of legal charity? They are blinded by the "God's" of this age, The modern Church "Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. 6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, 7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. 9 But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as theirs also was." 2 Timothy 3:5
Does the modern Church provide a daily ministration of pure Religion like the early Church?
Or does he engage in idolatry^[17] through public religion?
"The rejection of the gospel is here traced to the wilful blindness and wickedness of the human heart." ^[18]

Only hid to the lost

1 ¶ Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy^[19], we faint not;

2 But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty^[2], not walking in craftiness^[3], nor handling^[5]the word of God deceitfully^[5]; but by manifestation^[8] of the truth^[9] commending^[10] ourselves to every man’s conscience^[11] in the sight of God.

3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid^[13] to them that are lost^[14]:

4 In whom the god of this world(age) hath blinded the minds^[15] of them which believe not^[20], lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

Earthen vessels of power

5 For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake.

6 For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power^[21] may be of God, and not of us.

We faint not

8 ¶ We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair^[22];

9 Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed^[14];

10 Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.

11 For we which live are alway delivered unto death for Jesus’ sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh.

12 So then death worketh in us, but life in you.

Spirit of faith

13 We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak;

14 Knowing that he which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also by Jesus, and shall present us with you.

15 For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many^[23] redound to the glory of God.

16 For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.

17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;

18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.^[24]

“Let their table become a snare before them: and that which should have been for their welfare, let it become a trap. 23 Let their eyes be darkened, that they see not; and make their loins continually to shake."” Psalms 69:22-23
