Ecclesiastes 4

Jesus was called teacher. Abraham, Moses, and Jesus were all teaching the people The Way of God and His righteousness. Jesus came to take the kingdom from those who were teaching something different from Moses and appointed it to the Apostles so that they would bear fruit and the world might be saved through repentance.

"I returned, and considered all the oppressions..." from ‘ashuq(עָשׁוּק‎)AyinShinVavKuf[1] which appears in the text as hā‘ăšuqîm (הָ֣עֲשֻׁקִ֔ים) HeyAyinShinKufYodMem ‎which can mean oppression in the sense of extortion "the practice of obtaining something, especially money, through force or threats.".
V5 "eateth his own flesh"[2] is parallel to the idea of those who consent to One purse and are snared in their own net [3] or as you judge so shall ye be judged.[4]
V6 "Better is an handful with quietness" meaning "rest, quietness".[5] We need to rest from the willful wisdom of our own hearts.
V9 and V12 We should not be a man alone who only works for himself. We were not meant to be alone. Remember the "Preacher" is the word "gatherer".

The Evil of Oppression Evil Under the Sun

1 ¶ So I returned, and considered all the oppressions that are done under the sun: and behold the tears of such as were oppressed, and they had no comforter; and on the side of their oppressors there was power; but they had no comforter<05162 repentance>.

2 Wherefore I praised the dead which are already dead more than the living which are yet alive.

3 Yea, better is he than both they, which hath not yet been, who hath not seen the evil work that is done under the sun.

4 Again, I considered all travail, and every right work, that for this a man is envied of his neighbour. This is also vanity and vexation of spirit.

Eat you own flesh

5 The fool foldeth his hands together, and eateth his own flesh.[2]

6 Better is an handful with quietness[5], than both the hands full with travail and vexation of spirit.

7 Then I returned, and I saw vanity under the sun.

One alone vs Two together

8 There is one alone, and there is not a second; yea, he hath neither child nor brother: yet is there no end of all his labour; neither is his eye satisfied with riches; neither saith he, For whom do I labour, and bereave my soul of good? This is also vanity, yea, it is a sore travail.

9 Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour.

10 For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up.

11 Again, if two lie together, then they have heat: but how can one be warm alone?

12 And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.

The Futility of Power

The poor and the foolish

13 Better is a poor and a wise child than an old and foolish king, who will no more be admonished.[6]

14 For out of prison he cometh to reign; whereas also he that is born in his kingdom becometh poor.

15 I considered all the living which walk under the sun, with the second child that shall stand up in his stead.

16 There is no end of all the people, even of all that have been before them: they also that come after shall not rejoice in him. Surely this also is vanity and vexation of spirit.

Proverbs 20:4 The sluggard will not plow by reason of the cold; [therefore] shall he beg in harvest, and [have] nothing.
Proverbs 24:33 [Yet] a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep: 34 So shall thy poverty come [as] one that travelleth; and thy want as an armed man.
Proverbs 11:17 ¶ The merciful man doeth good to his own soul: but [he that is] cruel troubleth his own flesh.
Isaiah 9:20 And he shall snatch on the right hand, and be hungry; and he shall eat on the left hand, and they shall not be satisfied: they shall eat every man the flesh of his own arm:
Ezekiel 11:3 Which say, [It is] not near; let us build houses: this [city is] the caldron, and we [be] the flesh... 11 This [city] shall not be your caldron, neither shall ye be the flesh in the midst thereof; [but] I will judge you in the border of Israel:

2 Corinthians 11:20 For ye suffer, if a man bring you into bondage, if a man devour [you], if a man take [of you], if a man exalt himself, if a man smite you on the face.
The ultimate bondage is to hate your neighbor because we fail to forgive which is the consuming fire of Exodus 33 and the Raca of Matthew 5 that brings the judgement and wrath of God.

Proverbs 23:1 "When thou sittest to eat with a ruler, consider diligently what [is] before thee: 2 And put a knife to thy throat, if thou be a man given to appetite. 3 Be not desirous of his dainties: for they are deceitful meat."
Exodus 23:32 "Thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor with their gods. 33 They shall not dwell in thy land, lest they make thee sin against me: for if thou serve their gods, it will surely be a snare unto thee."

Luke 21:34 "And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and [so] that day come upon you unawares. 35 For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth."
1 Timothy 6:9 "But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and [into] many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. 10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows."
  4. Judge not
Matthew 7:1 "Judge not, that ye be not judged. 2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again."
Luke 6:37 "Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: [forgive], and ye shall be forgiven:"
